*Maxima Benchmarking the Bar of Repressentation in Ose Constituency*

Before I’m accused of playing politics with the birthday anniversary of my boss, let me say from the get go; that everything in this article stem from my knowledge of the numerous engagements of Hon Olatunji Oshati.
First of, Let me wish a law maker like no other, the leader Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Olatunji Oshati Maxima a happy birthday anniversary. With long life and prosperity shall you live the rest of years sir. Wishing you many years of impactful service to your people.
Hon. Maxima is a man that is very unassuming. A politician with uncommon difference— what will make others jitter and lose focus. Maxima handles it with unmatchable equanimity. He’d handled very many complex situations, capable of inflamy the polity with candour and capacity thus, calming frayed nerves. Yet unruffled by what people say or do to him.
His performance as a law maker is another icing on the cake for me. Yes! Expectations are quite high on him, judging by the level of neglect Ose has suffered in the hands of successive administration. Particularly, under the last administration. Our people want a representative that will be a voice to them, echoing all their deprivations— ensuring the roads in Ose constituency are fixed, insecurity tackled, deplorable state of healthcare revamped, a man who’ll cause our schools and colleges to be a 21st century educational institution so properly called. Maxima understands these sentiments and I must say they are valid. For the avoidance of doubts, the 1999 constitution spelt out the responsibility of a law maker to be Law making and oversighting. These, Hon. Oshati has done very well using the instrumentality of his office. An ancillary tool in the hands of a law maker, is lobbying. Again, Maxima has deployed the tool to achieve a mileage for his people. Remember, the first legislative intervention from him and with the support of concerned citizens of the constituency resulted in the quick fix of the erstwhile deplorable Elegbeka-Ifon road. His persistent cry on Afo idoani road have actually caught the attention of Mr Governor who it is believed would do it because the place has just been recently inspected as promised by Mr Governor.
It is verifiable that Maxima has human capacity development programs in his kitty, he has facilitated jobs for over 15 members of our constituency in the state govt’s ministries, departments and agencies and he has given out grants to many small scale agric-preneurs.
The list of his achievements across major sectors of our national life will be detailed as we move along, but this write up would be incomplete if I didn’t mention his yearly empowerment program which has touched the lives of many artisans, farmers, traders, elderlies, physically challenged, students and many constituents in need. His concerns for better welfare for his constituents has brought about the drilling boreholes and installation of industrial solar streetlights across the constituency.
Has Maxima attended to all issues? No!, Can he do more? Yes!, Has he garnered more experience that will be of advantage for the constituency? Yes. Because everything about the legislative arm of govt is hinged on the carnel of experience and this experience comes with continuous representation.
That is why it is incumbent on the people of Ose constituency to give Hon. Olatunji Oshati Maxima a chance to continue with the good job he is doing for us. Within the limit of resources available to him, he has proven himself a better representative. A responsive representative who had never failed to pick your calls and attend to your needs no matter how little. Why change a winning team? Maxima is poised to serve his people— recommiting himself to effective representation, responsible leadership shared prosperity, and pro-people representation.
There is so much to gain from Maxima’s continuous representation. Even the Speaker of the house of Assembly, Rt Hon Oladiji in his Speech, at the last Maxima empowerment program said, “Hon Oshati is a distinguished, mature and highly respected member of the house whose wisdom had greatly assisted him in stabilising the house”.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa said in his birthday greetings that, Maxima embodies excellence, forthrightness and courage.
No wonder, his nomination as the Majority Leader of the House, was overwhelmingly supported by all members.
His visions for Ose constituency are clear and ideas are lofty, yet achievable. We can’t afford to lower the bar he has raised when it comes to representation in the anal of history in Ose constituency.
